Coming up in June: 2000 new Hidden Secrets!

500 Hidden Secrets Belgium

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” That’s what Saint Augustine said some 1600 years ago, and we think the man still has a strong case - don’t you? That’s why we love making travel books so much, books that take you places waiting to be discovered. And of course we’re very happy with all the nice feedback we’re getting on our travel guide series, The 500 Hidden Secrets.

For example the article in The Independent, in which The 500 Hidden Secrets of Barcelona by author Mark Cloostermans is named the second best travel guide to the capital city of Catalonia: “If you really want to get under the skin of a city, the 500 Hidden Secrets series, which covers a number of cities from Havana to Ghent, all written by people who know the cities inside out, is ideal. It’s an innovative and refreshing take on the traditional travel guide, split into various lists of five. […] We […] enjoyed The 500 Hidden Secrets of Barcelona, with its refreshing approach and anything-but-ordinary suggestions. Combine together [with The Lonely Planet] and you’re bound to have a trip to remember.”

In June we’ll present four new titles in the series: The 500 Hidden Secrets of Madrid, The 500 Hidden Secrets of Rome, The 500 Hidden Secrets of Dublin and The 500 Hidden Secrets of New York. This will bring the total number of Hidden Secrets guides up to 17, including the bestseller guides to London, Paris and Brussels. Each one of these affectionate guides is written in English by true locals and filled only with independent advice, based on thorough research and the author’s personal opinions. Each volume holds 100 lists of 5 addresses/secrets in the fields of food, drinks, sleep, shop, culture and discover.

For now you can still find all the guides on our Luster website (and in bookshops of course), but if all goes well, we’ll launch a brand new website in June, devoted entirely to the Hidden Secrets series. It will be the place to be for any kind of information about the guides, previews, interviews with the locals, and lists with the latest hotspots and to-do’s in your destination. Meanwhile keep an eye on our Instagram-account @500hiddensecrets, and surscribe to our newsletter to be the first to find out about new secrets.
